JASMINA VUČUROVIĆ
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Ms. Jasmina Vučurović, conductor, holds two master of music degrees, one in piano performance from the University of Arts in Belgrade, the other in conducting from the University of Toronto, where she studied under Maestro Raffi Armenian. Before coming to Canada, Ms. Vučurović worked as an assistant professor at the University of Arts in Belgrade, where she collaborated professionally with world-renowned opera singers: a mezzo-soprano Biserka Cvejić, sopranos Radmila Bakočević and Irina Arsikin, just to name a few. Ms. Vučurović has performed, as both a pianist and conductor, in Canada and U.S.A., also in England, Sweden, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.

In Canada, Ms. Vučurović has worked as a vocal coach and rehearsal pianist for the Cana-dian Opera Company and Opera Atelier. Her broad experience and excellent understanding of opera, from the baroque to the contemporary, have made her an able assistant to conductors Andrew Parrott, Richard Bradshaw and David Fallis, among others. Ms. Vučurović has worked with some of Canada's most distin-guished singers: sopranos Isabel Bayrakdarian, Nathalie Paulin and Monica Whicher, tenor Colin Ainsworth, and bass baritone Gary Relyea. Since 2007, Ms. Vučurović has been collaborating as a pianist with Aleksandar Gajić, violinist, and Goran Gojević, clarinetist with whom she performed at the concert in Glenn Gould studio in Toronto on May 4, 2008.
